UA39_44
UA39_44 is a data set of historical upper-level data obtained from radio sonde and air craft observations in the Northern Hemisphere from 1939-1944. The data set is available for non-profit purposes (reasearch, academic, class room), provided that
- the source is acknowledged and a reference is given to Brönnimann, S. (2003a or b)
- the following line is added to any publications: "Based on information supplied by the UK Met Office, the Deutscher Wetterdienst, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, and data extracted from the Monthly Weather Review."
Please read the paper and the report carefully. The data set might not be suitable for the needs of your project. The data have been used to reconstruct monthly upper-level fields for the extratropical Northern Hemisphere. The reconstructed fields and error measures are also available below and can be used, provided that a reference is given to Brönnimann and Luterbacher (2004), as given below. If you donwload any data from this site, please send me an email.
